Description
Cold, rude, and arrogant. These are just some of the words most people would describe Theo Stephenson, a social recluse who lives a mostly undisturbed life painting along the North Norfolk coastline.
That is until he meets Will Murrow, a kind and friendly fisherman who takes a shine to the pessimistic artist, striking up a relationship with the older man, and slowly bringing out a side of Theo that had long been hidden away.
However, Theo is reluctant to these changes, constantly fighting them and struggling to figure out just what Will sees in him. In a bid to regain his lonely and isolated lifestyle, Theo tries repeatedly to reject Will’s advances, yet his efforts are constantly met with a longing to repair the mistakes he finds himself making over and over towards the hapless man – who for some reason just can’t stay away.
But as Theo battles between his feelings, his desire for solitude, and his Catholic faith, Will goes missing, leaving Theo wondering if he’s left some things too late…
A journey of devotion and forgiveness, ‘Kingfisher’ tells the story of how love can transcend faith, and break even the toughest of defences.
